VDX.tv is hiring mature generalists to contribute remotely. Candidates can be anywhere in the world as long as they are self-motivated, can work independently, have experience with many languages, and can be effective in any language. They should appreciate that mature software solutions accumulate technical debt and understand how to reduce it. The role involves building highly reliable systems and taking code to production. Code simplicity and readability are emphasized for long-term maintainability. The company is hiring across disciplines for engineers who work with Unix and have fluent written and spoken English. Positions include Backend Servers with strong skills in C, Concurrency, and Distributed Computing, as well as Backend Servers with strong skills in Java. Full-time only, remote only, starting with a full-time trial contract basis for up to 3 months.
