FlowDeploy is looking for a bioinformatics engineer. Curiosity matters more than domain-specific experience in bioinformatics, although some bioinformatics context is helpful. Key areas of work include improving integration with bioinformatics pipelining languages like Nextflow and Snakemake, building the core API with Express/Node.js and Postgres, building the UI with React and Typescript, improving pipeline execution in AWS Batch, and improving data handling with S3 and Postgres.
FlowDeploy builds dev tools for bioinformatics. They are a very small team, funded by Y Combinator, with revenue from the FlowDeploy product, and can sustain operations for years without additional funding.
